Identify the original series first
For a first watch, the original series is usually the clearest starting point when later works assume you know the characters. Use the year and full title to distinguish it from a reboot. A revival may begin a new entry even when familiar faces return.
Three different kinds of continuation
A new season continues a series listing. A sequel series has its own entry, such as Steven Universe Future. A film based on a series is a movie entry, such as Steven Universe: The Movie. Adventure Time: Distant Lands is another series, with longer named stories, rather than a movie called Distant Lands.
Do not create an order from poster placement
A popular-title row reflects browsing order, not chronology. Similarly, a latest-episode list is not a recommended starting point. Open the connected works collection and inspect individual titles before beginning a franchise you do not know.
Specials and numbering
Providers may package specials separately or combine cartoon segments. Compare names when the numbering differs. For Power Rangers and Ninjago, named seasons can be more recognizable than a number copied from a different platform.
Save a manual checkpoint after completing an episode. It is a reminder for your next visit, not an automatic connection to the external player's history. Use the episode finder to recover a named installment.
